Looooooooong overdue...

A news post is long overdue but now we have tons of news for you!

Desoto Jones had to say goodbye to guitarist Chris Gill and drummer Justin Staszewski. It was very hard to part with them as they are both close friends and family, but it was what made the most sense for everyone. Chris is now pursuing a media company called Starmada that does graphic design, video, web design, etc. Justin is currently the drummer for Please Please Me, a Philly area cover band.

On that note, please welcome Greg Townsend and Adam Francois. Greg is our good friend who was the singer and guitarist for Running Red Lights. He has joined our ranks as backup vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Things are sounding great and we are so happy to have Greg with us. Adam Francois is another longtime friend who has become our new drummer. Rest assured, he nails the drums just as hard as Justin ever did. We were sad to see our brother go, but Adam has filled the position quite nicely.

Desoto Jones has partnered with the Camden Riversharks baseball team to write and record the team's new theme song. The song is commemorating their 10th season and will be heard at every game this season. We are recording the song, "Swimming With the Current" now at Gradwell House Studio with Steve Poponi. Chris Badami at Portrait Studio will be mixing and mastering the track as well as another track we are recording with Steve titled "Unreliable". The song will be heard on April 30th at the Riversharks' home opener as well as live at Desoto Jones shows.

Apologies if I forgot anything and hopefully the next post will be sooner than six months from now...

Yes, we are still alive!

Hey everyone,

We are still alive and are still sorting through some things. However, you will be able to see us live again soon. We are playing a private party on Halloween and are going to be booking a show open to the public very soon. Hopefully we'll have a new song or two to show you at that point.

Despite any rumors you may have heard, we are not broken up. Stick with us!

Guten Tag

Hey Friends,
We don't really mean to be as standoffish as we've been lately. To be totally honest, we have been scrambling around a bit, we've been going through some changes and it's becomes quite exhausting doing everything (booking, merchandise etc) as a band and trying to make a living at the same time.
We are rather comfortable doing everything DIY but there have been some "speed bumps" that we have encountered and we are working through them.

We are taking a bit of a break from shows as we get rest and begin to really focus on writing. We have so many things we want to work on, so even if we feel a bit selfish about this, we have to take some time to hash out some ideas and make music that moves us.

We are all really excited about our direction and can't wait to share our music with you. I know we are not alone dealing with the frustrations of today and hopefully we can capture them into to sounds so we can, in a way, get over this together.

Hiyaaaaaaaaaaa

Hey everybody,

It's been a while. How ya's doin? We've got some cool shows coming up this spring/summer including some free acoustic ones at Hot Topic stores. Keep your eyes peeled for one near you.

We are trying to hit some areas other than Philly in the coming months. Give us a hand with venues/promoters/good bands in your area and we'd really appreciate it.

Hey everybody,
Just a quick note to say hello and tell you what we're up to.

First of all, the three new songs that are on our page will soon be available for digital download for only 3 bucks. Plus you'll probably get some cool artwork and photos to download as well. Maybe even a bonus mp3 or something to sweeten the deal...

Second of all, we are writing again. We've got a ton of ideas and are currently working on a couple of songs in particular. We haven't decided what we are going to do once they're finished... Maybe we'll hop back in the studio and put them on tape.

Third of all, we're playing some shows in the area. Sunday, February 15th is an all ages show at Whiskey Tango to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness. Come be our Valentine. We are also playing at the Khyber on 2/27 and we'll be hitting Baltimore, MD the following day. There are a few other shows we haven't mentioned, so make sure to check out the info on those.

We were surprised and honored to be named the "best local band" of 2008. Radio 104.5 is the Philadelphia area's only modern rock station- It boasts some of the highest ratings on the east coast. We appreciate everyone's support and belief in us. You know, in this day and age, the fleeting aspects of life and culture get way too much attention-we are glad you understand what we are about.

2009 should be a great year.
