FINALLY SOME NEW MUSIC!

Hey everyone,

We just uploaded a new track! It's called "She Hit the Wall". Check it out, add it to your profile, tell your friends, tell your enemies, tell everyone to do the same! And let us know what you think. We are very proud of it and we hope you love it as much as we do.

Showcase for Universal Records on Friday night and a busload of friends coming with us! We're so excited and so glad that you guys can come and share the night with us. Thank you in advance for an amazing time.

We are playing the Trocadero Balcony on Thursday November 20th with our new friends Jaded Son, Goodbye Etc, and Vaeda. Three awesome bands. It's all ages so please come out. We haven't seen a lot of you since the end of August and we miss you.

We've added some other shows so please check them out too.

Something Exciting...

We just received word from the man, Chris Badami, that mixing began today on our three new songs. We expect to hear something tonight and have all three by tomorrow night. This means, you might be able to hear something this weekend! We are so excited to hear the finished versions and can't wait for you to hear them.

We haven't come to a definite decision on how these songs will be available to you all; we've got some things to figure out. But we'll put at least one up on the myspace, .com, and purevolume sites...

Recording, Bus Trip, etc

Hey all,
Just wanted to say hello and keep you all abreast of what is going down in Desoto Jones.
We've been going strong: recording 3 new songs, playing some great shows in November, and doing a bus trip to NYC for our Universal Records showcase!

First things first: We are hosting a bus trip to NYC on Friday November 14th for our Universal Records Showcase! There are some spots still available and we'd love for you to comeout and show your support. The bus will meet @ Whistlers Inn, Cinnaminson NJ @ 6:30 pm. The cost is $25 dollars and that includes FREE BEER while on the bus! (It does not, however, include entrance to the venue and drinks at the bar) The show in in NYC and is 21+. The bus will leave @ 7pm sharp and have you back at the pickup spot by 2am! Please email us back or call Ean (609-410-4015) to reserve a space ASAP!

Recording the new songs: They are coming out amazing and (fingers crossed) we will have the new 3 song sampler by November 14th! ****All who attend the Bus trip will get a FREE cd of the 3 new songs! You can be the first to have these new songs!!! We think you will love the sound on these songs and we believe that these songs will be the ones that propel us to world domination. :)

New Merch: Please visit our website ( www.desotojones.com ) and check out the new "Somalia Air" T-shirt designed by Ean. The shirt is awesome and is worth getting simply for having the slogan "Get After It" on the back of the shirt across the shoulders. We have 2 other types of T-shirts and also 2 cds! Our last full length, Aurora, is a limited edition press and is running out so please order it now! As of right now, there is no plan to re-print the cd!

Some bullet points for yins...

Hi everyone,

As you know, we are working on 3 new songs at Portrait Recording Studio with Chris Badami. They're turning out well and we can't wait to finish up so you can all hear them. They are a bit of a change of pace for us, so we hope you're on board with it!

We are doing a showcase for Universal Records on 11/14 and have booked a party bus to take some friends with us. It's 21+ and we are supplying beer for those of you who take the bus. The cost is $25 plus the door charge at the venue. The bus leaves at 7pm and will have you home by 2am. Please message us to reserve your seat!

We have also booked an all ages show (finally) on 11/20 at the Trocadero Balcony. Stay tuned for more details on that!

Studio

The studio has been treating us well. We fired up the amps and they've responded quite agreeably. The music is all pretty much done, aside from some keys and tamborine.Owen is laying vocal tracks down now.

These songs are a breath of fresh air for us, they just feel right.
Owen's lyrics and singing style is very honest and soulful. If you've ever felt a loss of someone near and dear to you....these 3 songs will strike a chord within you. That I will promise.

The future, my friends, looks bright.

T Minus Seven Days...

One week from today, we will begin recording three brand new tracks. We have given some of you a sneak preview of these songs at a couple shows recently. They are a bit different than what you might be used to hearing, but we think you'll love them. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for a new track by the end of October. And keep checking for shows updates. We will be coming back full force soon enough.

Current Affairs

Hello. Welcome to another edition of Current Affairs. We are writing. Lots and lots of ideas on the table at this point. We are definitely recording three songs in October and two of the songs have been decided. The third is still up in the air. We have enough material for a full album and probably an EP as well... So we need to decide the third song and put the finishing touches on them. Not sure when the rest of these songs will hit tape but hopefully in the not too distant future. Those of you who caught our semi-impromptu performance at Bootleggers were privy to three of our new songs. Lucky bastards!
In other news, we are playing few shows because of all of this writing and the quickly approaching recording session. We will be at Seton Hall University with Running Red Lights on October 3rd and expect to get pretty shitty with those guys during and after the show. Can't wait.
I think that is all for now! We are doing some rough demos of the new tracks and its quite possible that if they turn out decent, you may have a short opportunity to hear one. So keep checking for updates!

Best Day Ever

Saturday's Free Show at Penns Landing was absolutely amazing. We had such an amazing time and can only thank 104.5, Live Nation, the other bands and every person who showed up to hang out. We feel truly blessed that we were able to be a part of such an awesome event. If you were able to make it out, thank you so much. If not, we're so sorry you missed all of the fun!

We've got a couple of shows coming up but we are writing and will be recording in October so we are sort of holing up a bit until then. Stay tuned!
